The Fishing Charters Auckland Spring Workups Are On!

We have found some real crackers in the deeper water from the Noises to East of Pohunui Island to Cape Colville and all the way up to little Barrier.

Whilst the deeper water has really fired with some schools of fish over 18lb found we have also found good workups holding lots of hungry snapper between Tiri and Motutapu.
Our current preference is North of Tiri in the 30 to 40m plus meter water.

The workups have consisted of Dolphins, Whales, Snapper, Kahawai the odd Mako and good numbers of Kingfish at times.

We even witnessed a terrified jet ski fisherman being picked up by a breaching whale in the middle of a workup last week.

The workup fishing is the most fun fishing you can have with multiple hook-ups, blazing runs and often there’s big fish all within the spectacle of the diving gannets above the feeding dolphins and whales.
We took quite a few South African visitors out recently who were stunned with the action. All our SA friends who had been to the famous South African sardine run said what they experienced here was far better which surprised us. Some of them had even been to the SA sardine runs in choppers but had not seen the sights they saw in the humble Hauraki Gulf. They went back to SA raving about this and so there friends came back for more great action and were not disappointed.

The workups this year have generally been more intense and a little shorter than last year and subsequently not always holding good numbers of snapper so you often need to look around or anchor and burley which has proved very successful.

The fishing in the channels has varied from sensational to tough and generally speaking out past the Rangi light and A buoy has been more consistent.

Over the last 8 months we have been joined by some fantastic new skippers and crew. Customers have really been enjoying the fishing expertise and great service offered by the new skipper and crew.

We now have a range of boats available from 18ft rental boats right up to Koru which is 56 foot and is in survey for 48 people.

We cater for all types of boat charters including corporate, party and fishing charters.

Using a charter (just a cruise or fishing charter) as a Xmas party, corporate getaway or entertaining guests is a simple and fun day out for all.

Getting a group of mates together and getting out on the water also makes for good times and and enjoyable day. We also cater for Stag Doo’s, Hen Nights, birthdays, weddings. In fact you name it and I’m sure we can cater for it.
